Tempura vegetables
Preparation of batter
Ingredients
- All purpose flour – 1 cup (cold)
- Ginger pwdr – 1/2 tsp
- Garlic pwdr – 1/2 tsp
- White pepper pwdr – 1/2 tsp
- Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
- Club soda – as needed (cold)
- Salt – as per taste
Mix all the above ingredients gently into a lumpy batter of thick consistency. Do not over mix as it will make all the air bubbles burst. Start frying immediately. Non vegetarians can add egg also to the batter.
Frying
- Cooking oil – enough for deep frying
- Vegetables – button mushroom, onion rings, potato etc.
Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan. Dip the vegetables in the batter and deep fry, till golden color.
