Mirchi kharda is a Maharastrian recipe. Hot and spicy chutney made with Green Chilli and peanuts. Very easy to make and normally served with bhakri, roti etc.

Ingredients:

  • Green chilli – 5 to 8 nos (roughly chopped)
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic cloves – 2 nos (big, cut into halves)
  • Roasted peanuts – 1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup (chopped)
  • Salt – as needed

Preparation

Heat a pan and add oil. When the oil is hot, add cumin seeds. When the seed starts to pop, add garlic cloves and green chillies. Saute over medium flame till soft and we can see some brown spots on it. Now add roasted peanuts and chopped coriander leaves. (To roast peanuts, just dry fry the raw peanuts in a pan and de-skin them.) Saute for few more seconds. After cooling down, add salt as per taste and grind it to coarse paste. Hot and spicy mirchi kharda is ready.
