Kung pao paneer
Step 1
Ingredients
- Paneer cubes – 200 gms
- Corn flour – 1 tsp
- Pepper powder – ½ tsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Salt – as needed
- Oil – 2 tbsp
Preparation
Mix all the above ingredients except oil into a heated pan add the oil and once the oil is hot, add the paneer mix and fry till crust is crispy and brown. Transfer the stir-fried paneer to a container so that the same pan can be used for further cooking.
Step 2
Ingredients
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Dried Red chilly – 5 Nos (chopped)
- Ginger – 1 ½ tsp (finely chopped)
- Garlic – 1 ½ tsp (finely chopped)
- Mixed vegetables – 1 ½ Cup (Onion, capsicum, baby corn and cabbage – cut into thin slices)
- Dark soya sauce – 2 tbsp
- Red chilli sauce – 1 tbsp
- Hot sauce – 2 tbsp
- Black pepper powder – ½ tsp
- Sugar – ½ tbsp
- Roasted peanut – ½ cup
- Water – ½ cup
- Corn flour – 1 tsp (make it into a solution by mixing in 4 tbsp water)
- Spring onion – ½ cup (chopped)
- Salt – as needed
Preparation
To the same pan add some 2 tbsp oil and once the oil heats up add the dried red chilies, ginger and garlic – Saute till the mix turns light brown. Add the mixed vegetables and salt as needed – Saute for few minutes over high flame. Add all the sauces and black pepper powder – mix well and then add the roasted peanuts. Mix well, add water and cook for few minutes. While mixing, add the corn flour solution step by step, so that the gravy becomes thicker (about 2 tbsp solution will be enough). Then add the stir-fried paneer, garnish with spring onion and serve hot.
