Kondattam chilli is sun dried Green chilli, marinated in curd and salt. This dried chilli is easily available in markets. Special coconut chutney made with this dried chilli is given.
Ingredients
- Oil – enough for frying
- Kondattam chilli – few
- Shallots – few
- Ginger – ¼ inch piece
- Tamarind – ½ of lime size
- Coconut – ½ coconut scraped
- Salt – as needed
- Red chilli powder – ¾ tsp (optional)
- Curry leaves – few
Add oil to a frying pan and add few kondattam chilli. Fry till it turns light brown. This fried chilli can be taken as such along with rice and curd. This can be stored in air tight container for later use.
Coarse grind shallots, tamarind, coconut and fried chilli without adding any water. Add red chilli powder and salt as needed. Add few curry leaves, just give one more pulse in blender. Transfer it to a plate. Mix thoroughly with the hands. This is the best chutney to have with rice.
