Cheema chakka ularthu ( Breadfruit stir fry)
Ingredients :
- Breadfruit – 1 big (chopped )
- Fresh coconut – 1/2 cup, cut into small pieces
- Grated coconut – 1 cup
- Kashmiri Chilli powder -1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
- Coriander powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Fennel powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Black pepper powder – 1/2 tbsp
- Coconut oil or any other oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/2 tbsp
- Onion -1 cup (chopped)
- Dried red chilli -3 nos
- Garam masala – 1/2 tbsp
- Curry leaves – one handfull
- Coriander leaves – one handfull
- Salt – as per taste
- Water – as required
Step 1 :
Coarse grind the mix of grated coconut, Kashmiri chilli pwdr, turmeric pwdr, Coriander pwdr, fennel pwdr and black pepper pwdr.
Step 2:
Add oil to a heated pan.
Add mustard seeds to it and when the seeds start popping, add dried red chilli. Saute for a while and then add the chopped onion. Stir onion for a minute and then add the chopped coconut. Saute till the mix turns golden brown.
Add chopped breadfruit, salt, curry leaves and garam masala. Mix well, cover it and cook over low flame.
When it is half cooked, add the ground mix and add little water (if required)
Continue cooking over low flame.
Once it is done, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice, chapati, roti etc.
